That seems to be the topic at our church lately. The fact that we still have our doors open stems for this exact sentiment. When our Pastor and Organist both retired on the same day, we thought that was the end. But if not for the determination of the few remaining congregants, we would be closed. We endured one week with no music and the congregation’s participation. Things were not looking good. One of our members mentioned someone they knew that might be interested in playing music. We got a call the following day, met with him and got ourselves an Organist. That person’s name is Brian. We continued with the congregation’s participation and over time Brian has conducted most of the service and the music. I never thought it would be possible, but it works. And it works beautifully. A few of the members read scripture, etc. but Brian mainly conducts the service. I have heard people say they have never been in a more spiritual and enlightening service. I have also heard that Brian is the best Spiritual Leader our church has ever had.

Lately we have had congregants tell the story of how they were in a very bad place, and how suddenly they heard God’s message, and how their lives have changed because of it. In every story, its like a message came out of the heavens for them. A message that would change their lives forever.
