Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
We are fast approaching the season of Advent. It is during this season of the Church calendar that we prepare for the birth of Our Lord Jesus Christ.
I understand that this is a very hectic season between the secular and religious celebrations of the Christmas season. With the hustle and bustle of dealing with masses of people hitting the malls buying those Christmas gifts for family and friends. Little children making their lists of toys that they are asking Santa to bring them and restlessly waiting for Santa to come on Christmas Eve. The Christmas parties, the baking of goodies for the season and the family get together on Christmas day for a Christmas day feast.
Now, I am not saying that this is in any way wrong or not to celebrate the secular Christmas. I am saying that we should also celebrate the true meaning of Christmas as well. At this time of the year, I am reminded of this verse from Scripture; “For God so loved the world, as to give his only begotten Son: that whosoever believeth in him may not perish, but may have life everlasting.” (John 3:16).
So, for this Advent season, as we make our preparations to celebrate the secular Christmas, let us also take time out to pray and give praise to God the Father that we may truly understand and joyfully celebrate the coming of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
So, on behalf of myself and my wife, Mary, we wish for you a joyous Christmas season.
Peace be with you,
