Epiphany Sunday

Glad to see those that made it out to church today!

What a glorious day today turned out to be! Sunny, clear skies…yes it was a bit chilly, but it’s Winter! The sun and the clear skies definitely made up for the chilly temps. The numbers were a lot lower than we usually have, but that’s to be expected when we have Winter weather.

We had some great fellowship. Brian spoke to us about Epiphany (or Three Kings Day), and what it means (yes, some of us had no idea)! It is essentially celebrating the Baptism of Jesus. He even mentioned that the Protestant churches customarily remove their Christmas decorations on the Eve of Epiphany (or the twelfth night). And that some burn the decorations in a bonfire. Who knew! Today would’ve been the perfect day for it…we could have all warmed up by the fire!

It just goes to show you learn something new every day. And today I learned about Epiphany.

Brian made some home made Clam Chowda, and we had lots of sweets for Coffee Hour. All is right with the world…or at least for this week.

Hope to see everyone next week!
